1984 kx 250 frame will kx 500 fit?

I am tearing down an 84 kx 250 because of bad bottom end. I dont know weather to rebuild and restore. Transmission seems fine.
Or does a kx500 engine fit in here? Or other year kx250 engines?

1984 KX250 has single downtube frame due to angled exhaust port of motor. KX500 1986-2004 all have centered exhaust port and will not work with modifying the frame.

Dont think 1985 KX500 will work either but cant remember. 1984 KX500 and earlier you are on your own.

1983/1984 KX250 and 1984/85 KXT250 Tecate are what fits.

only the old aircooled kx250 and 420 engines 1980-81 fit in the 83/84 frame...   but the 250 have similar powerband...    for more bottom end install a reedspacer and flywheel weight...  at least i rather to a newer or bigger bike with exhaust valves... there you find the bottom end you are looking for...
