In search of the obsolete valve.

<< < (4/5) > >>

GRARA:
I rode for about 3 months without them...was just like a 4 stroke lol

Heniz:
im currently looking for this valve for my 1997 kx250 restoration........ doing a fro replica and i just cant seem to source this part anywhere..... i am 1 step away from having them made. 12005-1242 LHS sub exhaust valve

Garand1:
I went through the same situation when I did my rebuild on my 88 250 last spring.....one of the valves had the very tip broken off and I was able to drill and tap to a piece of 6mm bolt that I threaded into the valve & ground it to the proper length. It worked but I'll probably look for a new set as the gears and the track for the center valve are worn. But, they are working great for now. left and right pn# 12005-1099 & 12005-1100

Heniz:
luckily i think i have found a good 2nd hand one to use for now but mine just had worn gears so i wanted to replace it as the rest of my bike will be mint and it was causing the powervalve to slightly bind on actuation. But this does beg the question what are we going to do when there is no more power valves available? I can make them but for each valve it takes atleast 6 - 8 hours depending on the complexity, degrees and angles of the gears cutting a gear up to a shoulder is really hard and its something i really cant be bothered doing in my free time. would much rather be riding hehe.

GRARA:
Ive read somewhere that you can jamb the valves so they are constantly open?.......anyone else heard of this???
