Wow, that is some pretty bad damage!  Did it say what year and model the engine is?

it was listed in the '91 K5 section...but because it only has two power valve gears, and black cases, it's either an '86 or '87, or an '88 with painted cases...maybe one of the members that're more familiar with the old stuff can pin point the exact year.

That just makes me sad.  Being that old and that messed up, it's probably the last time that motor will ever run.  May we have a moment of silence for a fallen friend...
