I go back and forth on wanting to do an aluminum framed 250 or 500.  The aluminum seems like a lot of work for not much gain, but it does allow you to use later model hardware.  Did you happen to check the weight difference between the 07 steel frame and the aluminum one?

the al-frame is heavier weighted and stiffer than the steel frame... both are very good ..
  it is the look and the possibilty to use the newest chassis for building a 2stroke ..  :wink:
