Kx60 clutch problems
Paddy60:
Tool wise I meant anything to take clutch out or off lol
Foxx4Beaver:
unless the basket and/or the inner hub are beat up and grooved badly...then an impact gun can be your friend....otherwise a 10mm socket should do just fine to pull the spring bolts so you can get the plates out.
I've never opened up a 60...so there could be different size bolts than what I'm used too...you'll find out once you get the cover off.
Paddy60:
Ok will crack on with it tomorrow so:
Drain oil
Undo clutch cable
Remove bolts
Check for damage on basket etc
Remove inner hub and check plates?
That right? Lol
I will be taking photos and uploading if needing advice lol

with any luck, you won't have to remove the inner hub.
once you get the outer clutch cover off, there should be 6 bolts holding the pressure plate on the clutch pack, there are springs in there too....remove all those bolts, then you can start pulling the plates out. This is a diagram of the '98 KX60 clutch.
there are 5 fiber plates, 4 steel/metal plates.
what is the history of this bike?...did you know the previous owner?...did he tell you up front the clutch wasn't working?...did the clutch work at all since you've owned it?
Paddy60:
Ok I cannot undo the oil sump bolt as it has been changed and it catching in the frame so I'm thinking about taking the engine out.... I have undone the 6 8mm bolts on the clutch side but the case wont come off there is a little bit of oil dripping but I could have caused that by trying to get the case off.... Any ideas what I'm best off doing now
