exhaust spring tabs on cylinder head

Foxx4Beaver:
another option is to just pull the whole motor out of the frame and put it on the bench...then you don't have to pull the motor apart, just repair it while it's still together.
either way you decide to choose it's generally an easy fix, keep us posted how it turns out.

Thanks

Twosmokerfan:
Same thing with mine. They were almost worn through. When I had the cylinder fixed during a rebuild, I had them weld repaired. I then drilled the holes just a little larger and inserted a roll pin in each hole, and cut them to size. Mine now effectively has a steel liner in each hole where the spring goes. It will never wear out.

That sounds like a good solution I appreciate the feedback do you have kx500 ?

Brute:
Why pull the motor? Drain the gas and stand the bike up with a hoist around the triple clamps. Weld. File. Drill.
