2000 KX5 Street SuMo Build

<< < (17/22) > >>

Brute:
Went back and read some of these and realized I forgot to take it in to get the front tire swapped. Got to do that!
On the other side, I am infused with 'Bird Dog Cinnamon Whisky' and will throw out there that I will probably sell or trade my street legal 2000 SuMo KX500 for before this year is out. I do not find it that fun to ride any more, and have other dirt bikes that, while not as nasty as the KX500, will not laugh while they try and kill me as the KX500 did the last time in the dirt before the conversion. Really, I heard it laughing at me while I was laying on the rocks in pain!
All the dirt stuff will go with it but it is set up with 17's and plated in Washington. I,,, am getting older and the saying "Pain is my friend" does not have the same meaning that it used to have when I said it in 'jest' when I was younger... Just sayin'...

 I'm sorry....but I had to chuckle when I read this part.

I'm sad you have to let yours go.
I wanted a big bore two stroke SM since the mid 70's so when I built mine it was a dream come true.
I hope I can ride mine till the bitter end

Brute:
Yeah. This one is my third but is probably the nicest one I have had. Put it on the lift this morning so I can pull the front tire. Gave me a thrill just pulling off the cover and seeing it again. If we get some sun and nice days I will probably change my mind again...
Sick that I would probably trade it for a mega scooter!  :-o

Brute:
Got a call in to Passalt, uhhh, Passaunlt, uhhh, well, whatever they are called (am well into an American Stout 10 Barrel Brewing beer) about rebuilding my engine on the KX5. Getting lazy and would rather have someone that has done an engine rebuild on a KX5 (or anything) more recently than me do it! Asked about balancing too. Anyone know if they do it? Still not sure I need it but it can't hurt.
