2000 KX5 Street SuMo Build
Foxx4Beaver:
Looks awesome Brute!!...nice job!
When do we get to see a video of you doing a burnout into a wheelie down the street??!!
Brute:
How about someone dressed in my stuff doing that? :-D Been so long since I got 'crazy' not sure I could handle it! My last off road crash was a bit of a 'wake up'. Reactions definitely ain't what they used to be.
That said I picked up a used set of full leathers on Saturday and had them at the leather repair shop for a new zipper an hour later. Am thinking I should do a track day with our little 250 track bike and, well, maybe the insane crazy SM KX5 as well. :-o
Got to drive it first though. :-D
Foxx4Beaver:
eh...as long as you're having fun, that's all that matters...and I'm sure you will!
Pmcg:
Looks great. I'm excited for the ride report
Brute:
Good God A'mighty Batman! I have been riding a 250 Ninja (one of the most fun bikes we own) for the past week. Started the KX5 (second kick!) and rode it up and down the street a couple times. Holy crack pipe!!! :-o Forgot what real power feels like.
Seems to idle better now with the hot stator/ign and light flywheel then it did all stock with the heavy flywheel weight. Gave a little burble mid RPM like it was loading up so I goosed it a bit. What was it that 'Joe Guts' the motorcycle test rider said? "That'll blow the tar and nicotine out of your lungs!" I don't smoke so it will have to be premix smoke. :-D
Just talked to the inspection folks and here in Wa before taking it in for the plate check out. It HAS to show charging ability, so the total loss systems seem to be out. Glad I got the charging set up. It also has to have DOT brake lines. Not sure they are on the KX. Doubt it. I will check tomorrow.
