Foxx4Beaver:
I've gotten some pretty horrified looks from people and kids while walking around with these things exposed.

I'll post a pic of the staples/incision when I change the dressing again...still QUITE painful to move around!!
sandblaster:
Nice....
At least the hard part is over...
You must have had a large hernia.
My belly button use to be a innie. Now I have a outie
Foxx4Beaver:
the main problem was that the muscle down the center of my abdomen had split and pulled itself out to either side of my obliques a little over a year ago.
The triangle represents what happened to the muscle...meaning there was no muscle where the triangle is, it was all forced to the sides.
More than likely, I'm not gonna have a belly button after it heals...but that's no biggie.
Oh...and oxycodone is wonderful mixed with frozen mudslides :-D
Foxx4Beaver:
I did have a small re-occurring hernia just above my belly button that happened the 1st week of January this year...and the doctor said he could fix the immediate area in day-surgery, but because of the muscle being split, I'd have a 90% chance of it re-occurring again, and so on and so on...he said it would be like climbing a ladder, it would just keep happening.
So he suggested going this route....and now I'll only have a 5% chance of it happening again.
He laid a 6" x 8" piece of mesh in there for good adherence.
Candyman:
Im not working at the moment and I could come make you some mud slides.
id even bring the van with my stash of candy.
