Bobbyevo:
Thanks very helpfull ideas lookin at the pics looks great on the start line on the vids
It's the rear fender what does it for me I think and I was born in 1984 aswell so the bike sorta was for me I have a little vid of it running while I was sat on it but none of it being ridden yet ill get the vid up 8-)
motopunk:
thanks... 2 times holeshot against bigger bikes 8-)
and i never thought that it performs so well, as i picked it up in bavaria near munich . at this time it was simply an scrab-assembling , missing the carb, broken 3th gear, both fork legs were bend...
were a lot of work... and now it starts always with max 3 kicks in cold or warm .
i was realy amazed, how powerful this 30 years old engine is performing.
you will learn to love it, if you ride your bike
Bobbyevo:
Ye can't wait to get it done so I can go for a proper ride out with it
At the moment I have stripped it down again to get the parts I need and give the frame and a few other bits a good going at but there is a lot I need to do aswell. The forks need rebuilding one of them seems abit longer than the other the rear shock is nackard and I think it will cost too much to rebuild do you no of any other good shocks that will fit also struggling to get hold of the both of the mudflaps for the rear the cylinder has been welded/fixed in the past but i can see a hairline crack so that needs a good looking at and a lot of other things I can't think of at the min
Before the strip down
motopunk:
the hairline crack should be welded again with the right heat treatment to the aluminium...
my bike came with an öhlins shock as i picked it up. the shock in your bike looks like an wp aftermarket shock or is just taken from another bike.
the stock shock looks completly diferent ...
older suzukis and hondas used similar shocks . u should compare the length and diameters of the mountings... most shocks could be modfied to the right length in the case, that its longer as needed...
so i think , first you should find out, which kind of shock is in your bike and let it rebuild ..
with buying another used shock, it could be, that you might have a 2nd shock that needs rebuild..
