vintage 1990 Kx 125 owner says Hi !
levis:
Hi there.
My name is Bart and I come from Poland.
Few months ago, I bought a 1990 Kx 125 lets say in a not good condition. Engine was running, but there was not much power. I took it, because visualy was not that bad, and gear box was working fine.
Now after I've added new sleeve and wossner piston, it runs good.
I have a problem, because I don't have power valves, but I will make another post about it.
Here are some pictures :-)
Anyway - Hi again ;-)

Hi Bart.
Welcome to the site.
Looks like you are doing a good job.
When you post info about your exhaust valves, post what the 4 digit code is on your cylinder.
Sometimes the number is under the exhaust valve cover.
Since each year had a specific valve you want to be sure you get the right one the first time :-)
Checking out the forks, in the USA they didn't use the blue uppers until 91.
I know that in Europe they often were a little ahead of us here..
Enjoy..

Hi Sandblaster :-)
Thanks for advices. You are right, forks are from 1990 or 1991 kx 250 (thats what previous owner told me).
As far as I know, I have a 1990 version, friend checked by VIN numer, and piston from this year was a perfect fit.
I've found out, that power valves are the same for 90 and 91.
Here are some bits which I need to buy:
12005-1145
12005-1153
13236-1250
Still have no idea, how does last part connects with governor shaft :-) and what makes power valves to set back to start position, when RPM goes down. I know, that governor shaft goes back, but how does this affects lever and vales I don't know yet :)
Here are some more pictures from my work :-)
sandblaster:
Yep, 90-91 valves are the same.
Here is what your cylinder numbers should be:
1602 is from a 90 KX125
1645 is from a 91 KX125
I'm gone for the weekend so I'll let someone else handle your other questions.
Do you have a manual?
If not, better get one :-)
levis:
I have manual ;-)
bad news are that, kawasaki don't produce my kips valves anymore, and they don't have them :(
