In Oregon the easiest way to do it is to buy a frame that has already been plated in another state, then swap all your parts  8-)

ha, NV is easiest I've heard about so far, buy the $160 tusk dual sport kit take it to your local motorcycle shop, have your mechanic buddy sign off that it is a 4T 250 or whatever you would like to call it, take it to the dmv they check the odometer and that is it... they dont even check vin at the DMV they believe whatever the shop wrote down on the "DMV form"  took me less then a week to completely street legal my 2009 300xc-w and under $200

I did the tusk kit. I also intigrated a 91 kdx 250 ignition box and 94 kdx 250 flywheel, stator and wire harness to run my acrabis headlight and a regulator/rectifier from radioshack to charge my battery. I'm using the supplied tusk battery, but I will change it out to a better one when it dies.
