Thanks.
I know I should rebuild it but it still runs amazingly strong.

I pulled the seat off discovered that I still have a K&N in there.
In all honesty I hate they way they fit, I hate the reduced area for the dirt to stick to and I never feel as though I'm getting it on there right.

So, out it comes and in goes a new one....
Good thing I had the original cage in my private reserve junk pile...
But, before I put in the cage and filter, in goes a PC Racing Pro-Seal Air filter gasket.
I just love the way these things work, clean the mating surface with some acetone and stick it on.

Next, put the stock cage on and the No Toil dual stage air filter.
They even give you some plastic gloves so you don't get you hands sticky :-)

Put the bolt in and your done.

No grease needed and it fits superbly.
I gotta say I like this combo ...

k&n- filters are good for road use and cars, but no way for dirtbikes in dusty-conditions...

sandblaster:
100% agreed  :-D

Destroyed my last top end, never again K&N on any of my bikes.

motopunk:
thats why i never buy this k&n-crab for mx-use . on dry conditions without dust it maybe would work....have you thougt of using it in the supermoto?? i think thats a place for it...

last week i saw a guy with an old cr125 with removed airfiltercase and only an little k&n on the carb mounted. i said him : on a muddy track 5 minutes and the engine dies cause it will stick full of dirt.
he laughed and said: but it looks good. took his bike rode a few laps on our mx-track and then blown up his engine, because the filter was loosen somewhere on the track and the engine soaks all the dust...
i had only a big smile in the face and said nothing as this idiot came back to his trailer... i just knew this would be happen.. and thanks god, that i could see it live....
