That's a a good idea re heat treating. I also have a friend who does powder coating. It's the one thing that worries me. Now that the engine is in and things going back on, the frame rails look rather small. Not very confidence inspiring. I'm kinda wishing I'd just bought a used SH bike sometimes. Although frustrating at times, it is rewarding over coming some of the problems...

those radii on the rails turned out great! i got a shop to do mine that had a HUGE $$$ bender and mine's got more creasing than that.  nice fitment there.
