KX80 carburetor for KX60

(1/1)

chris-mets:
Hey guys,

I recently purchased a 1989 kx80 carburetor for my kx60 to see if it will make a big difference that I like. The kx80 carb fit perfect in the kx60 carburetor boot although the air filter boot did not. These are the specs of the carbs. *The kx60 carb I jetted perfectly for my location. What changes should I do to the kx80 carburetor to make it work on the kx60 considering I bought the carb from lindsey Ohio. The better part is the kx80 carb actually has an air screw.

1989 kx80 carburetor:
-132 main jet
-55 pilot jet

2000 kx60 carburetor:
-230 main jet
-35 pilot jet
-3rd clip position
-float level 21 mm

Thanks CHris

Why did you not buy a newer kx 80 flatslide carb? You didn't gain much by buying a round slide. You will surely lose bottom end, you may pick up some top end. Those jetting numbers are pretty close for an 80, no idea what is going to happen on the 60. refresh my memory, is the 60 carb a mikuni and the 80 carb a kehin?

chris-mets:
Most people say the newer 80 carbs dont fit. Yes, The 60 carb is mikuni and 80 is keihin.
