Buying a 07 kx250AF friday. It has the 03 kx250 motor in 07 kx250F frame. I currently have 03 kx 125 and a 07 kx250. How much of a diference in power and handling will the 250AF be compared to my 07? Anything special I should look for when going view the bike? I hear the 03 motor isnt as good as the 07. Any input guys? Thanks

I just built one using the 06 kx250f chassis and the 03 motor. I have ridden the 07 motor as my dad has one and dont care for it because it has a major hit. The 03 250 motor to me is more mellow and easier to ride once you jet it to your altitude. The bike itself is the best is literally the best bike I have ever ridden. It tracks very true and you have room to move around if your a tall guy. One major difference I noticed from my 03 125 and 03 250 is the aluminum frame seems more nimble and easier to throw around

The 03 motor is the older design, there was a redesign in 05, some say better some say worse, it probably depends on who you are and what your riding. I built a 250af for my wife using a 06 250f frame and a 06 250 motor, the bike felt tiny and easy to handle but in the end turned out to be to much bike for her, I was afraid she'd get hurt so I built her hybrid kdx much easier for her to ride

Thanks for the input guys. Yeah im really short 5'5. . I was thinking that the AF bike would be lighter then my 07 but it seems that its actually heavier due to the two stroke motor being heavier(seen that in a post). Glad to hear that it seems to handle well. I was worried about its handling. Does it handle more like a 2 stroke or 4? Does it get better traction?

stevea100m:
It handles like a two stroke and to me it seems like when your on it it doesnt want to wheel stand out of the corners as much as the steel frame
