Flywheel for 250F

(1/2) > >>

stroke.n.smoke:
I have been looking for a heavier flywheel for my 2011 250F.  Kawi offers three: 8.5, 9.0, 9.5.  It comes stock with a 9.0.  What is the weight difference between them.  I would expect it to be metric from Japan.  How much weight difference is there between these items.

My local dealer told me it was different ignition timing,  :?  When I suggested you can use the computer to change the timing and there was no need to change base timing he was a little baffled.  :-o I don't think he is too up on his technical part of the job.   He also told me the price, $420 Canadian.  Best price so far was $345 in the US.  I just want to know the difference in weight? Anyone know the difference?  It is listed as "I" for inertia on the kawi site.

Nevermind, I just ordered a Rekluse EXP 2.0.  That should take care of the stalling and power delivery...

I have been actually thinking the same thing on Flywheel weight..

I plan on going with Rekluse too.

By what you posted on weights kind of guessing being in the middle it should work pretty good?

i emailed Stealthy off road ..nothing for '1 250f either ...

curious if different clutch basket would help out?

stroke.n.smoke:
the dealer could not give me the answers I wanted about how much heavier the Kawi flywheel is and now that I have the EXP2.0 I have not followed up on it at all.  A heavier clutch basket and steel plates instead of aluminum will help out also.  I have a new clutch sitting on the bench with steel plates, but I think I will install the EXP plate with the old plates and see if I like it and how it holds up, then I have a new back up clutch I can throw at it if it fails or I don't like it.  I am thinking the Rekluse EXP 2.0 might be a little hard on clutches.  Then what about the oil, is it going to heat up the oil if your doing alot of tight trail riding???

I will be taking a spare clutch kit where ever I go...  Until I get some seat time and hours on this Rekluse, I can't say what will happen.
