KX 250 Flywheel Interchange Help
« on: January 13, 2009, 02:37:22 AM »
Hello to all,
I have a question regarding interchangability between kx 250 flywheels.  I have found a steahly flywheel weight advertised as 87-88 kx 250. I need one to fit a 94 kx 250. Upon doing research I find that steahly advertises one part number to fit 83-89 and then another number to fit 90-97.  So my question is what is the difference?   Is it just in the shape of the cover and gasket?  The flywheels look the same on the fiche, and the weights look the same.  The fiche part numbers are the same for 87-88 but different for the 89.  You would think that if a weight fits 83-89, as advertised by steahly, that those part numbers would all match.  This seems like the right place to catch the attention of a KX guru, so someone please help a fella out.  I ride tight, steep, ledgy and rocky in S.W. missouri and really need a weight.  Thanks to all

They don't appear the same on their website.   Is this what you mean?

        83-89   Uses a bolt

       90-97    Has a nut

      98-01     Has two bolts
