I know hosting pics costs $$$ so I am guessing that it would be best to keep pics smaller in size. Considering even phone cameras can take huge pictures these days I am wondering what a preferred size might be for the site. Is 1024x768 a decent size? or do we all have huge monitors and need something a little larger like 1152x864 or 1280x960. Those size of pics aren't that much bigger. 4000x3000 on the other hand I know is probably not the best idea.

Also wondering is size an issue or is the site automatically scaling and compressing pics to a standard size? If the site is scaling and compressing automatically I guess we won't have to worry about the original pics size then.

Thanks for adding the picture hosting btw. That is a huge improvement. Loading to a separate site and linking was a pain plus what photobucket did absolutely destroyed forums all across the net. Now that photos can be uploaded I am looking forward to adding to my build thread which I abandoned mostly because I don't have a photo site to link to.
