steel frames/ silencers
« on: March 08, 2013, 09:32:01 AM »
Just wanted to find out what others are using for silencers on their steel frames?
I am doing a 99-02 build and am running the fmf gnarly for the 500af's.
Just wondering what others experiences have been like trying to fit / mount silencers on these builds.
I am currently thinking of running a cr 500 silencer from fmf.
Any different years fit better than others.
Any pipes require less mods to achieve a good fit?

I used the a CR500 pipe, and the silencer from the 250. The pipe diameters were slightly different. This forced me to make a sleeve I welded to the silencer so it would slip over the pipe. Just check to see if the silencer ID is very close to the pipe ID

I wound up choosing the fmf Q silencer.
I'm just in the process now of getting the pipe mounted.
Had to cut and re- angle the stainless tubing.
I couldn't believe how long these silencers were when it showed up in the mail. haha
