I didn't find an answer or I need more info / 1987 KX500 flywheel rotor stator options
« Last post by Limmer94 on December 22, 2023, 04:15:49 AM »
Does anyone know what kx500 ignition systems will fit. I read all the forums on here related, but didn’t see a solid answer. I’ve read if you change the entire ignition system that you can make one work. What years for the kx500 will work on the 1987? Thanks

KX250 / KX125 / Re: 2015 forks on 94 250
« Last post by KXDINO on December 14, 2023, 03:15:31 PM »
Not sure if the 94 250 has the same bearings size with out looking up the parts sizes as a kx250 05 to 08 250 kx but i do know i fitting kx450 14 clamps on one of my 05 250 with a 19 front forks and wheel and brake set up , and the only mod was to extend the steering lock on the frame, personally im not keen on any of the showa air forks and would get the later showa 49 spring forks or earlier kyb air fork or spring forks. There just easier to get better performance out of and tune.

KX250 / KX125 / 2015 forks on 94 250
« Last post by Jeffkoss11 on December 13, 2023, 03:14:31 AM »
I’m considering purchasing a 2015 kx450f to rob the forks and hopefully the wheels to put on my 94 kx250. I’m wondering if the swap is possible, if it is what would I need to make it work? I appreciate and help

KDX (KX step child) / Re: klx-drz400 front end on kdx200 h

After more testing with the new front end , it feels more flex free over any jumps and g out gullies which what i was trying to improve and turns just like it did with std front end , worth the effort.

KX500 Original / Re: KX500 Fork Oil Level
« Last post by KXDINO on December 07, 2023, 08:26:18 PM »
On my k5 , 100 mm 5 wt . Most forks start at 100mm oil level ht , another factor is most brands oil wt is different from brand to brand so a bit of testing on the clickers will solve that.

KDX (KX step child) / klx-drz400 front end on kdx200 h
« Last post by KXDINO on December 02, 2023, 09:31:23 AM »
In the testing phase on complete 49mm showa right side up  klx400 front end on kdx200h , had to machine a new stem up ,as the bottom bearing was loose on klx clamp than just copy kdx one , it does pay to make the new stem 5mm longer where the nut goes, another mod was to add and weld 10mm pieces of alloy to clamp steering stop so the forks dont hit frame .The front end was sitting higher than stock kdx so i lowered the forks internally by 15mm and sits were it should, these forks offer more adjustment and have hardly any overhang down near the axel and the bike looks stock compared to a up side down set up.Another thing these front ends are cheap as there plenty of worn out 400 in the wrecker yards.

KX250 / KX125 / Re: Kickstarter skipping fix! (88 KX250, and the like)
« Last post by ssrlewis on November 28, 2023, 01:46:14 PM »
jamesohoh7, you wouldn't happen to have a photo or screenshot of the microfiche?  I have a 89 and 96 KX125 and the 89 skips more than a young girl and the 96 is starting to.  I looked at rmatvmc oem parts and I'm not seeing a very thin washer in their parts schematic.

You gave a very good description of the process but I'm the visual type so this is something I don't want to try without seeing it (if possible).

Thank you
Steve

KX450F / KX250F / 24 kx450 ride test
« Last post by KXDINO on November 24, 2023, 04:56:16 PM »
First thing we did was take out the air filter water plug thing , then put it up against a kx450 19 that has a port job , pc pipe ,vortex ecu , on the bitumen road for maximan traction , 1 bike length behind the modded 19 bike , now around my private test track ,swaping between the bikes ,the 24 bike carved the corners like a rmz but more stable with no twitch what ever , really impressed on the handling and can change lines much easier , and loved the forks as there was no harshness at all , body plastics was sleek with no catching any part of the boots .the muffler seems to have things inside the core i never seen before ,might be for noise reduction , i say the pipe boys will have lighter and freer flowing muffler in no time.So bike is easier and more fun to ride , smoother power and can be riden harder for longer and has more potentual.

Introductions / Re: Fmf grizzly ?
« Last post by GCrites80s on November 23, 2023, 01:41:10 PM »
Let's try to get all the 2T FMF pipes cataloged.

There is:
Just FMF
Don Emler Signature (these have his signature on them, sometimes people just call them "Signature")
Factory (modifier meaning no coating or clear coat)
Fatty
Fat Boy (Fat Boy is like Fatty but only made for a year or two before becoming Fatty probably due to getting a letter from Harley or Paul Turner the ATV pipe maker or both)
Gold Series (modifier meaning nickel plated)
Gnarly (off-road pipes that have thicker walls and nickel plated)
More? Probably
