Title: NEED INFO / GETTING READY TO START
Post by: MOTOSCOTT on December 31, 2011, 03:37:51 AM
CANT GET AHOLD OF ANYBODY AT JFAB FOR RAILS ANY IDEAS OUT THERE. When I get ready to cut frame I have a few Questions on sequence
1. What size is everyone drilling their swing arn pivot out to? Do this first so I can mount and measure. Can this be achieved by hand or is this a job for drill press etc...
2. Cut frame and prepare.
3. keep and modify the "Y" for use or scrap and jfab weld and gussett.

I've read all the posts and these areas seem a little vague.
I'm using an 2008 kx250 f with an 92 kx500.

These Question are keeping me from getting started.

THANKS AHEAD FOR THE WEALTH OF INFO ON THIS BOARD!!!

Hello.
It can take some time for Jfab to respond but the wait is worth it.
I would use a 43/64" as it is 0.672" or 17.06 mm.
This is only .01mm or 0.0004" larger than the holes in the frame.
If you use a 17mm drill it will be very hard to get the pivot pin in and out.
I started mine here:

I have not got very far on the build but enough to have ran into a few issues that can save you some time.
