Now if we could only get Kawasaki to read this!

Gotta agree with the woods section. In the past month, I have put in almost 1000 miles in the woods, and have loved every minute. I, too, ride a gear high, which reduces the wheel spin experienced by those on smaller bikes. As also stated in the article, the big ugly uphills is where the 500 shines.
I shared this story before, but worth repeating. About a year ago, I raced a team race at a park with a lot of sandy hills. We rode my partners YZ250, and wow, what a difference. Clutch work and wheel spin were the words for the day. The big bores won all the classes.
While I may keep my son's 2005 KX250 at the end of next year, the 500 will stay in the stable. The 250 will only be used as a backup bike or as a loaner.

Although I love the power the 500 i do have fun getting on a 250 every now and then....they feel like my old bmx bike. I wish i could afford to have one of each!

No knocks on 250's at all. They are good all around bikes. But there was a reason after all these years that I bought another big bore. I just plain missed it. Good article and covers every reason why I ride mine.
