Title: Conversion - 4 Stroke to 2 Stroke

Hi, new to the site and a recently reintroduced to the world of two strokes.

Rode a two stroke when I was a kid back in Pennsylvania.  Was wonderful, we just fired up and could ride from my parents' garage.  Miles and miles of trails.

Came to California 27 years ago and about 5 years ago got back on dirt bikes.  Specifically a Katoom 525 EXC.  I sold that bike, but now I have an 09' KTM 530 EXC, 11' Husaberg 570 FE and most recently a 03' KX 500.  Bought it from a member of this site, very clean bike.

I just completed going thru the bike, farkled it up with some shiny new parts, will publish a pic once I get a second to take a good picture.  Going to haul it to Colorado to another house that I own, fewer regulations in Colorado than California.  More places to ride as well.

Thanks for having this site, I have already used it a couple of time to answer questions and research problems I was having.

Hey Tim,
  Glad to have you with us.  I grew up next door back in Ohio and had the same privelage riding out of the garage into the woods....  I didn't know how good I had it!
   Lot's of guys on the site also had a long Hiatus and then got back into bikes..

Welcome Tim!!....nice looking bike.What kind of pipe guard is on there?

In response to the questions, tank hold 3.2 gallons, is from Clarke.  Fits perfectly, no problems whatsoever.  Doesn't get in the way if you're riding up on top of the tank.  Color is a good match to the rest of the OEM plastic.

Pipe guard is from EE Engineering (I think).  Comes flat, have to tweak it to fit which was a pain in the butt (and the knee which is what I used to bend it).

Last three things to do will be to have a compression release installed (thanks to this site found out about my options) and will install new set of sprockets and chain.  And, need to revise the jetting to 6K feet.

Bike went to Colorado over Thanksgiving.  I am missing it already!
