Title: REVIEW : Sandblaster / OEM Cycle
Post by: DoldGuy on November 01, 2011, 12:29:30 PM
I placed an order late Friday with Sandblaster & he said he would try to get it shipped out but probably would be shipped out on Monday, I told him no problem it was a winter project. I was surprised to have a package delivered on Monday (from Western part of the country all the way to the east coast!). I am very happy with my purchase as it's exactly as described. He even followed with an email to confirm I was happy and the item was what I was expecting!

If you are looking for pieces parts (any manufacturer) do yourself a favor and check out Sandblaster / OEM Cycle.

Hey Guys Thanks for  taking the time to tell folks about OEM Cycle and using the company.
The Owner has been a great addition to the site.  Not just for keeping our bikes running but helping answer alot of questions on fitment and where and how to cross reference parts across different years and models.
I'm sure advertising is expensive and small businesses nowadays don't have a very large margin to operate in,  so actually making a profit when all is said and done is tough.

Thanks for helping a Brotha' out!

Just curious, is that an ultrasonic cleaner in your shop? Or do you clean parts by hand. thanks

Sandblaster is the go-to-guy for any parts that you need, when it doesn't have to be new. I have a had a few purchases from him and have received excellent quality parts and even better customer service. Don't hesitate to spend your money with him. You will not get a better value anywhere else....

Thanks again Sandblaster, the parts I bought fixed the bikes up and still running strong with no issues..

Hello.
It is a hot water washer with a mild soap.
It's ok but we end up washing a lot of parts by hand.

Just another great experience with Sandblaster.  Buggered up my carb slide and Sandblaster sent me another one that was in better shape than my low hours one.  Got it in two days.  Super helpful and just an awesome guy to deal with.  Saved me some serious money over new stock.  I know where I will always go first from now on.

Dang I cant believe a Guy that will send you the parts no $ down & says if you dont like them chuck um & if you do I'll make you a sweet deal. This after he's taken a bunch of measurements & sent me pics of numerous years of the part, to help me with fitment. Saying "You don't owe a thing for what I've done, it's just all part of the business  :-D"

 Customer service you just cant believe  :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

True that! Got a 'softer' KX5 seat and skid plate he had. He even tossed in an 'extra'. I will certainly try him for any parts I need. Now if I would just get my part that sits on the seat down to the shop and complete the build! Hey wait! Got any motivation for sale?!?!?  :-P

Quite some time ago I bought a spare KX 500 off a lad I worked with as spairs for my main supermoto version, he'd flipped it so the rear subframe was knackered and there were aq few other things wrong with it so it was only 300 quid.
I then bought a fresh rear subframe off Destry Abbots mechanic as I realised that this bike could be complete with not to many bits.

I left the rear subframe in a mates shed and his shed caught fire and ruined it.I was pretty gutted.

Few weeks ago I spotted a rear subframe on Ebay, at a more reasonable price than the ones I see in the UK.
I don't have an Ebay account so got my wife to order it through hers. At the time I joked with her that I wouldn't be surprised if I was getting it of someone off the KX forums.

Anyway, shortly after she placed the order she mentioned that the parcel tracking showed it had been dispatched from some place called Eugene Oregon. I thought that sounded familiar and checked it out and it was from a company called OEM cycle...I thought I recognised that checker-plate aluminium bench.

Fast forward a little and it arrived in sunny England, well packaged and as described.
That's a thumbs up from me then.

Hey guys, thank you so much for all that.
I would like to take full credit for everything but I feel that I have to give credit where it is due.
My employee Joe is a lot of the reason why we do as well as we do.
He is hard working, dedicated, and conscientious.
He can also see very well at close distances which helps find potential problems in advance.
Without my glasses on I can't see anything closer then about 3 feet  8-)
Every company could use a Joe to help them out.
Thanks again goes to Joe and all my customers.

While there was no inappropriate touching or free candy (sorry Candyman), I was extremely pleased with my transaction with Sandblaster.  He was able to get me my 88 mm Wossner and all the fixings in time for me to rebuild my motor this weekend for a Labor Day ride.  He called to make sure that the package arrived on time, and even passed along some suggestions on mods I should do to make my motor flow oil better as well.  He's just an all around good dude.  Buy your stuff from Sandblaster, you won't regret it (unless he starts a free inappropriate touching promotion or something like that).   :-D

Thanks Umberto.
But what you left out was that my original supplier (Unnamed) dropped the ball and never shipped the parts.
They sent me a invoice but never shipped the parts.
Long story short, when they did ship the parts, they sent the wrong size piston... Even after Umberto paid for next day shipping.
So (Unnamed) didn't have the correct size in stock and I had to get the piston direct from Wossner who did get the correct piston out and sent it next day.

All this being said, Umberto was a real trooper through all this and kept his cool.
Hopefully he will get the extra box I sent him soon  :-o

I understand what it's like to deal with bigger companies that don't share your standards for customer service (cough, cough, UPS, cough, cough).  It would have been easy to just say, "Sorry, they dropped the ball, it's not my fault.", but you stepped up and got me the parts when I needed them.  It made for a great customer experience, and I really appreciate it.  I had been working on getting the bike done for Labor Day so my 71 year old dad could ride it.  It's been a long time since he has been excited about a dirt bike, so letting him ride it was very important to me.  You helped make that possible, and I thought that was the important thing to focus on.  Without your extra effort, I don't think I would have been able to get the bike back together in time.

I appreciate the box of goodies too (icing on the cake); I can't wait to open it.  It arrived at work today but I am off, so I'll get to open it on Monday.  I like dirt bike stuff way more than candy any way (sorry Candyman).   :-D
