Can you see if the kips is moving?  If I'm not mistaken the older bikes have less moving parts.  This might be holding your top end back.

you mite find with the mainjet that bcoz of the improved scavenging capabilities of the pipe you might have to go one size down on your main jet to get her to percolate.checking your main bearings by grabbing flywheel and trying to move it up or down to check for play is your first job.checking  crank seals and gaskets and cases/inlet for air leaks is your second.read sparkplug for jetting clues after checking for airleaks.check what jets carb is running b4 doing jetting.hth.K.

i kno it gaskets good well top end i put them on but bottom end not sure didnt check but doesnt leak no type of fluids and afterr i put reeds it seems liks it want to hit but i havent really pushed it still in breakin in stage on piston and rings heard u must wait and all together prob between idle and quick spin bike has been on mayb 2 hours in my posession.. and whats kips how do i see if they move, when i took bolt out to and assembled crank was good no loose play

300 somethin but on that carb mikuni 38mm realized main jet sleeve was broken where u screw it on so i replaced carb with keihin 36mm pj carb 170 main 68 pilot runs great low mid and top but wont idle and when i turn on gas to start it.. carb leaks alot from overflow line on bottom in back dont know why.. to big a pilot?

worn or badly adjusted fuel valve/seat.she'll go better with a 38 or 40mm vm, 40mm was standard 86 kx5 carb,went to 38 in 87.K.

yea 38 was on but was givin bike no power.. i put 36 keihin and gave bike tons of power but over flows, i seen on youtube that problem is with float bowl may need adjusting.. if full bowl then float should rise up causin pin to cut flow of gas.. it keeps flowing but not sure how to adjust floats.. bike dont bog with 36 the way 38 did then again 38 main was broken so course it bogged half to wot.. 36 wot is clean and half.. just not to good with idle floods and bike dies.. i thought smaller pilot but must be floats

key point..

Trading your LazyBox... to get your butt off the couch to experiance REAL LIFE... is worth the trade... no matter the monitary value...

-P.S.   motorrad has been drinking.. so if this sounds rude, or makes no scense... I have a excuse...

You are also going to learn the OTHER pleasure of dirt biking.... and that's the "wrenching" side of bikes. As opposed to video game skills which are limited to expert reactive thumbs and nothing else, you will now start to learn how to think mechanically and not only use your hands you will also have to really think hard and systematically to achieve corrective results.

Hey Mr. Green Beast,

This is a good idea you could read through in small pieces.  Being able to get your bike running well is a process.  It just takes some time and patience.
