Well, it's been a few years since I sold the KX5. Wanted a enduro (KLR650) so I could ride the street to where I wanted to ride dirt. It worked out ok but the KLR650 is a bigger heavier bike. At 53 years young it beat the shyt out of me.
The guy I sold the bike to (KX) blew it up about a month after I sold it to him and it's been sitting ever since. He and I ride street alot and he has been asking me if I wanted it back. Up till now I was ponding it from time to time. The other day he asked me if I could do some work on his street bike and he would give me the KX.....I think his wife wanted the room in the garge. That and he has not done anything with it since it blew up. So I told him sure why not! Now I'm getting it back. It lost the "C" clip on the upper clyn pin...over RPM'd it .
I put alot of money into the bike and it still all there. One of the members from this board got me a new head and Wisco piston....guess I am going to need info again on getting a new upper end.
At any rate I think I'll rebuild the bike again and if anything ride it from time to time........just something about the KX that gets in your blood after a while.

K...a.. you'll never get bigbore 2 stroke outta the blood . Great you got "your" bike back. Hope you hang on to it this go round. Think of it as free with helping out a friend, which you'd do anyway. That way you wont sell cause it didnt cost a thing
