Ive got an 89 250 and I need the 2 bolts that hold the tank to the frame and the stator cover bolts, can anyone give me some general sizes so that I have a better chance of gettin lucky at the hardware store lol

I usually buy small bolt kits off ebay ($20) and they come with an assortment of nuts and bolts for the bike. It has been very handy. They give you the same head sizes as the others so your not changing your socket every time you move to the next bolt.
All i know about those screws you have is it will be metric threads. Your hardware store should be able to determine the thread and size. Home Depot and Lowes both have a layout for you to screw your nut or bolt into to determine sizes as well.

dont know how i missed this but i bought the bolt kit below for my 89 kx250, it gives you most of the bolts for the whole bike and it will make the bike look sweet

and i went out and took a bunch of pictures to show you what this kit looks like
and the bike is a little dirty at the moment

cool I check that out! the vibration from this beast wiggles the bolts out left and right! looks like im gonna have to get some loctite! also the rubber oil filler cap has just about had it! the rubber threads are about to twist off, do you think the metal ones on ebay that are designed for a newer bike would fit our year? thanks for the info!

i have been losing some bolts off my bike lately :| subframe bolt and kicker nut (lucky my kicker isnt gone!)
im not sure if the metal caps will fit this bike. but if you want to try go ahead or just order the oem cap

v force 2
-
What did the vforce do to the powerband? and also how good does the pro circuit pipe hit... cause right now I have an FMF but it has a HUGE dent on the front of it, but the bike still wheel stand me 3 gear easy, but I want more powerrrrr :-D

its kinda tough to remember the changes from the v force but i think it gave it more bottom end torque.
and i cant say how the new pipe worked cause when i had the new pipe put on i also had the piston replaced
and the power valves were STUCK so..
...bad piston + stuck valves = no power. new pipe + new top end = lots of power.
new pipe + another new top end with plating +all new clutch = insane power :-o :-o :-o

very nice... I guess im gonna pop the dent out of mine and see what it does... I guess the dent really effects the way the pipe does its job on moving exhaust back into the cylinder so hopefully it will give me more top end after its fixed... then either Ima keep it and do a top end porting and mill the head eventually or sell it and buy a cr500 or something, I would get a kx500 but their rare around here... the crś are much more common. but I may just fix up my 250, revive this ol beast a little

i wonder if the kx500 motor will go into the 250

That would actually be a fun project! If I could find the engine I would do that!
