Title: The Outdoors Motocross 2011
Post by: ID KX500 on July 16, 2011, 03:37:47 PM
Chad Reed did the most spectacular freestyle move at Millville, Minn was unreal. The Outdoors has been as good as Supercross. I'm a  new fan of Reed,,, as of this year,,, climbing back on tonight.

Man I couldn't agree with you more!! That was insane!! I couldn't believe he was able to keep his feet under him like that! I also agree with you about the outdoor season this year. There has been some epic battles. It has been better than supercross. This year has also turned me into a Reed fan. He is out there and having fun doing what he's doing. No huge pressure from a factory. My hats off to him, he has tremendous heart. He finished 5th overall, even after that terrible crash. My man.

Whenever reed manages to be a good guy, he also manages to doosh it up.

I think he has a lot of pressure.  His name is on the line because it's his team.  If he didn't perform, the support would be gone or non-existent next season.  With factory support, you still get paid by them if you're in last...until your contracts over.  Then you can go private the next year.  If reed put in mediocre results this season, what level of support would he get next?

I'm not a Reed fan, but he has put in some great rides sense he started his own team.

If you watched the first Moto yesterday on Fuel you'll see that his finishes last year (on the kx) was not the bike that he said, was not good, but his Health. Getting sick in the middle of the season is tough, Just ask Villiopoto.

That's exactly what I like,,,Reed had to make it or tuck his tail between his legs and leave the sport after last year. I think he's a good family man, and providing for his family has motivated him. I'm glad he didn't get hurt worse,,, its very dangerous from that height,,,landing wrong can be fatal (Lusk).

Like the comments have a safe summer all.

He can always go back to australia, dominate and make some money.

Pressures not that great, he's about the age to start something new anyway. He can simply hire somebody to ride his bike next year. Not like he needs the money. I'm always an underdog fan. Not a Honda fan I can tell you that!

There's been some talk that Dungey might be riding under the  two two mortorsports next year. So if Reed doesn't win the title and Dungey does. it could set the table for Dungeys jump to some other team.

Really, that's interesting. I'm sure Dungey's tired of the Suzuki breakdows. There killing him with it!!! Is his contract almost up?

I gotta think putting up your own money to fund a top class race team has alot of associated pressure.  He's a millionaire but at the level they race, it ain't cheap.  It's been tossed around he's looking for a honda ride to finish off his career and if he won the sx championship, he woulda sat out the outdoors like JS...they both like sx only contracts as thats where the big money is.  I read he asked for too much $$ from yamaha and l&m and they didn't think he was worth it back then.
