i just picked up my first k5 last sunday and its missing a few parts. its, missing number plates (sides), right shroud, kick starter, it needs new plastics all around though, new radiators as they are dented inwards bad, shift pedal lever (the one on it is not the one for the k5 the prev owner just made one fit), the seat is fallind apart underneath as well tears in the seat, the foot pegs are twisted and wobbly as well, and to top it off i noticed the exaust side of my sub frame is gone, its missing from about right under the bottom of the seat back.
Whats the best site for part for the 86? what years parts are interchangable? (i know 89-up wont fit) How should i go about fixing the sub frame?
thanks for any help guy

hi tommy, the subframe will need repairing, at a metal shop if you cant do it yourself, else it is a new frame im afraid, as they are all one part.the seat can be replaced by using an 85 86 or 87 seat bought second hand on ebay or ceet racing will sell you a new one.replacement plastics are available from maier manafacturing in the usa, just google search it and your laughing. as for the radiators, 3 of the 4 mounts on 86 rads are the same as the 87 on type.you can cut and flip the mount,(if your handy at welding ally?) or just use 3 mounts with blue loctite and keep an eye on them, which I will be doing.chinese pattern radiators are available on ebay, and seem to be ok if you want a new set, although the mounting holes may need a kiss from a circular file, or use kwak 87 on ones, either ebay or new from a dealer.if you have any other questions, just give me a yell,K.
