hey guys first post, I just bought a 2000 KX5 and have already ordered a graphics kit and 93 KX250 rear fender.Im trying to get rid of the old eighties looking bike and make it look more up to date.My question is about the silencer.I hate how the silencer sticks out a mile and was wondering if one could cut it to make it shorter. Will it hurt performance? And how loud would it be?Not much woried about the noise just don't want it to affect power.

A short silencer is for bottom end and the 500 needs no help there  Anyways, i cut about 3" off mine but then I welded up my sparky.

Pro Circuit makes a 304 Stainless Shorty for the KX-500. You can find one for about $100 at www.motosportoutlet.com
