Title: 86 KX250 CYLINDER
Post by: BGNBG on June 04, 2011, 03:18:37 PM
HAVE A 1986 I WAS WONDERING IF DIFFERENT YEAR CYCLINDERS WOULD FIT OR MADE THE SAME FOR THIS YEAR. IT HAS MARKINGS ON IT 0249l SOMEONE TOLD ME THEIR 85 HAD SAME MARKING. THE 87 HAS SMALLER BORE 67.40MM WHERE 86 AND  85 AND OLDER HAVE 70.00MM WONDERING IF 87'S DISIGN IS SAME AS 86. I DID NOT MEASURE MY BORE YET BUT THE NEW WISECO PISTON SEEMS TIGHT (NOT ENOUGH CLEARENCE) THAT IS WHY I THINK IT MINE MIGHT BE AN 87 ON AN 86  IF THEY HAVE THE SAME DESIGN.

Diffrent part numbers, usually if they didnt change the design they would keep the number going. 85- 86- 87 all have diffrent part numbers, Im not sure the differences between the years. I have however learned the hard way on many occassions that when the factory changes the part number, there will be a sometimes small difference, sometimes major difference.
