hey guys hows it goin i got my bike all together and took it out last weekend everything is fine and everything sounds good i looked around my cylinder for leaks and there doesnt seem to be any i was just wonderin if i should re torqe my cylinder nuts i dont realy wanna strip it back down but if i have to i will so my q. nis should i re torqe all my clyinder nuts now that i have taken it for a rip or can i just leave it thanks

It took 5 times of torquing them on my bike before they stopped moving..
First time was SCARY how much they backed off...

It only took 3 times for mine to settle down, but I agree it was scary how loose they felt after the first heat cycle. They felt like they had been torqued by a kitten. Bordering on finger tight.

4 and 5th time, only one near the head stay needed just a squeek...

i used lock tight on them should i still re torqe them they dont look like they moved or should i just recheck them anyways and heres a pic of my bike its first time out

o yea when i torqe them the first time i used lock tight and i just put a wrench on them and they are still tight can not budge them at all

i would not use locktight on headstuds

i already did what should i do about it or just leave it they have not moved

i would think the nuts need re torquing because of heat expansion not the head nuts rotating loose
i would leave the locktite now and maybe try to re tighten with the engine hot
if they feel ok {not springy} you should be ok [dont shear any of the studs :-D

i would not use locktight on headstuds
The Loctite will give you a false sence of torque..
as the loctite will have ahold of the nut... so it wont move... BUT... the force it is putting on the head (and gasket) is not the same all around...

I dont retorque at all. I never have problems with my heads. If Kawasaki wanted you to retorque they would tell you to retorque. All your doing is stretching the head bolts out.
