Title: Wheels for the K5
Post by: dmazz71 on April 17, 2011, 12:25:27 PM
Hi,

Other than Excel, which wheels do you recommend?  Are the Moose wheels any good?  I'm planning on reusing the stock hubs when I swap the wheels.

Thanks

I have used Excel, Pro Wheels and Moose and they all bend just the same.

I agree.  They all bend the same.  I had a Moose Rim and found it to be a bit soft compared to a standard Excel.  When compared side by side with an Excel the quality and finish of the Moose
is really noticeable but for a $100 you cant go to wrong.  I had one on my 500 and it served its purpose.  One other thing I found is that the overall outside width is a bit wider than a standard Excel and a stock rim but the inner width is the same.  You need to take that extra width into account when setting the offset otherwise you'll be 3/8 to a 1/4" to far to one side.
Hope this helps in your decision.

Thanks for the input.  I think I may just end up with the Excel wheel after all, so I don't have to worry about the offset.
