mine does not run very good on pump gas.  I am running avgas with great results.  It smells great too.

Hi,

I have an 03 and plan on running VP C12 in it.  The last time that I mixed up some fresh 93, the motor sounded different and didn't seem to like it as much.

A little info for those Kx riders that live near water , ocean or lake., Most marinas sell not oxygenated fuel for boat motors , everything I've seen so far is 90 octane & ran around $4.00 a gallon. CBX

ok again your wasting your money if you havent up your compression.  The bike will run better with 92, it will.

Your regional fuel could make one consider popping for low octane race fuel. To get away from that high ethonal crap.  That stuff is he'll on internals, and seals

In holland you get 95 or 98 octane at the pump.
Never had any isseu with one or feld a performance advance on a k5, rm125 or a rmz250.
Could be europe is different. Some buddy's do use avgas, 1/3 avgas 2/3 pump.

My 03 doesn't seem to like 93 too much, so I have been running it on VP unleaded StreetBlaze 100.

Now if you fix the s**tty head design.... It wont

Hi Dutch,
Do you have any idea of how the fuel that we have now in europe affects the jetting? Example, my K5 is from -89. Should I in genaral increase the size by 5% compared with how it was in 89 due to unlead and Ethanol? Any idea?
/Peter

Hi Peter. I was looking for some info of fuel in Sweden. And I'm interested in diesel race fuel, so there for a late respons.
I don't think there's a jetting issue with the unleaded fuel maybe a different head design/squeeze.
With the ethanol could be richer. I looked for water injection with diesel. Methanol is used with this in cars. And by that way that with speedway they use methanol. And twice as rich than normal unlead fuel.
Do know the fuel in Europe is better then the US.

I'm in north Cali. And I run trick 110 gas only on my 2000 kx500. It is 32:1 I have never ran pump gas, bike runs great and never fouls a plug. Its practically like alcohol.

first there are many types of race gas, some will make yor bike crisper, run cleaner, but no real performance advantage. there are other fuels, such as the oxygenated that do show performance increases, fuels such as the Q16 and the MR series of VP do have a performance advantage. The real question is are you willing to pop for the $25 per gallon for the MR fuel, if your not competing I think it would be a waste of your money. Alcohol was mentioned, it makes huge HP over race gas, however you need an 1/8" drill bit to get enough to run good and as such your range isn't very far, no race gas will make the HP of alcohol, oh. and you have to use oil that will not seperate
