Title: Chain Link Length
Post by: Atomic on March 26, 2011, 04:35:06 PM
2003 KX250: going from 13-49 to 13-51 sprockets.  Will i need a longer chain?  If so, what link length.  Thanks.

It would depend on where you have your chain adjusted to. If its adjusted close to the front you might get it to adjust out. If it you run out of room to adjust it you might try a half link form the hardware store.

I think I found a better solution: 12-47 = 13-51 = 3.92  With the 12-47 I might be able to keep the stock length chain, or better yet, 12-49=4.08 for hill chugging.
