this is the startin of my first kx 500 rebuild, here are some pics of the new and improved motor lol hope you guys like

is the frame painted or powder coated?

how come you polished the motor?

the frame is painted i paint planes for  a liven so it was cost free, and i polished the motor just to make it easyer to keep clean i ride in the mountains and it is bog hole after bog hole so it gets pretty dirty and pls it looks awsome and it shows my pride

Looks good.

Anything inside the motor yet? (notice there arnt case bolts, head bolts etc)...

Do we get to see another motor build?  Always entertaining...

this is what the piston i took out of it looks like and the inside of the cylinder, i still have to send the cylinder away for platein

Kaw rider gets a good deal on plating and window piston.. 

If ya want to save some $$ going that route..

too bad engines are not see through, so you can see if there are any problems. and prevent an engine faliure

also when they replate the cylinder they will probably glass bead blast the outside of it ,making it look just like my cylinder

im sendin it in to a guy in town through the bike shop and i am goin to keep it polished i have acess to a glass beed blaster at work i work a a aircraft overhaul company i paint and prep planes for them just want it plated thats it lol that was alot of work to polish that motor i need some decals and i made my own black seat cover turned out pretty good o ya and i just bought this bike about two months ago with that cracked piston and messed up cylinder when  i bought the bike he said it was a strong top end and was in wicked shape i paid 1400 and my 81 it250 with a brand new top end 2 hours on it lol i bought it from a shop too and the head set has a nasty crack think i got took o well when im done with it it will look and run 100% better

o yea and why you got elastic band on ur choke my choke wont stay up for some reason cant keep it on for startin

yeah the choke will just fall back down. i dont really want to spend $35 plus tax for a new choke.
id rather use a priceless rubber band for now

do you want to buy the oem style decals? and the uni trak decals? i know where to get 'em

i also know where to get brand new oem NOS rad shrouds with the oem decal on them. they have 9 of each in stock
