Post by: alanj490 on March 18, 2011, 12:52:31 PM
I picked-up a 1989 KX500 and can't find a owners manual the service manual is for servicing put is missing simple owner info like suspension adjustments info and get this it has the petcock broken down put doesn't tell which way is on and off...I figured out the petcock but would like to know if the top adjuster on the forks is rebound or compression same with the rear shock.

89 forks had internal fixed re bound. the top screw is a bleed valve. i have 89 forks on my 86, i can look up what iset my forks at, maybe give you a ball park. i  probably have an old mx mag that would have specs in there. i have a oem service manual for 89 kx500, but i wouldn't be around it until early next week. will get you the baselines.
