I want a new law past. There shall be no more then three different size bolts used to hold any engine together, small, medium and large. Also no one part can be held on by more then one size or style of bolt. I have been working on a dodge 2.7l engine, car manufacturers suck ass.

Also use only Metric or Standard, DO NOT use both on the same vehicle, bike, whatever!

Bike im working on right now has standard and Whitworth interdispercied on it with no rhyme or reason... Welcome to the last years in the Triumph factory.. (1974 triumph Trident)

Also they should standerdise three speical tools and everyone has to design thier parts around those tools. no more makeing s**t and then making tools so it can be worked on. we could go with three different sizes of each speical tool. I also agree with the metric and standard thing but I think we should do away with standard altogether. I bet UFO's have all metric fastners on them.

This triumph uses torx on the Cylinder hold down bolts...
Not just any Torx...
Whitworth torx...
and you cant get a socket on em..
Do you know.. how hard it is... to find a WHITWORTH torx crowsfoot?! (impossible.. you make one. )

what?!?!?! do away with standard and use only metric? i think you may need to put the aerosol can down and open the garage door to get some fresh air. up until now, i have never seen you post anything stupid. i guess we all have our bad days. just kiddin

They past a law years ago that said the united states was supposed to make the switch over to metric by a certain year. Well do to the fact there are so many old guys that can't let go of the the SAE standard we are still struggling with the out dated idea. Maddoggy The old Guy thing was a dig just incase you didn't notice. :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: The only time I have any use for the inch is when measuring stuff down in the thousands.

i have no problem doing away with SAE. just sucks i have been working so hard on my standard metric conversion.maybe we could just get rid of the ones that don't cross over on both sides. you know 14mm-9/16 then you go 15mm what for we could just skip that one and so on. :-D

i had a crescent wrench once that was also a hammer on the backside. it was factory made. we passed it around to different guys' toolboxes as a running joke for years. i can't remember the brand. i guess thats my alzhiemers kickin in huh. :lol: :-D

if they would just put the bleeders on the bottom side of the calipers, slaves, what have you then we could just put a cup under them.

it doesnt solve the original design problem, but you could put a small zip tie on the hose where it slips over the bleeder to make it stay there. just a thought.
