Last I heard, the 310cc size is no longer possible to put together for a 99-02 KX250, since pistons are not made anymore? I know about the 295cc kits by Eric Gorr, but was looking for that extra 15cc ... thanks

If memory serves me right, the 310 piston was made for LA Sleeve so I'd contact them about availability. The 295 is more common and I know there was a write up from maybe Rick Petersen saying that the 295's were better than the 310's. If it were me, I'd be happy with a 295, as many builders are still using this kit.(must say something)

You need to call La Sleeve yourself and ask them if the pistons are still availible. I've been told many times that the pistons for my 540 kit weren't availible and you couldn't get them anymore, but when I called La Sleeve they had pistons on the shelf , now the thing is that they have to order at least a dozen pistons at a time and they don't order pistons til they run out and then there is sometimes a long wait til they are able to get pistons from wiseco. So do what I do and order at least 2 pistons when you order , write down the number off of the rings bag when you get them [they can be had at any time from wiseco] that way you always have a back, and when you use your last piston order more.CBX

Well, I called LA sleeve yesterday and was told they do not have any pistons for a 310 kit. They order them from Wiseco, and the lady from LAS said Wiseco's price went from 210 to $230, so they didn't order any more, because they would have to order a minimum of 25. They said it took them a few years to sell the 2 dozen they had ordered in the past, so it didn't make financial sense to do it again, especially since that model is out of circulation. She asked for the part # on the 310 piston to verify it's inventory, but I didn't know it.
CBX - do have a part # from your 310 inventory ?

Roostdaddy was gonna post this but I guess I beat him to it my piston is made by wiseco it says 8005 then under that it has 72.95mm . That stinks if they aren't gonna handle them anymore .CBX

CBX - did Eric Gorr do your 310 kit?

I had the cylinder bored and sent it out to US Chrome to have it plated , I got the piston direct from LA Sleeve & I get my gaskets from Cometic direct also I used to hve a racer support deal with them but they cut out most of their rider support but I still get dealer pricing. Eric Gorr gave me all the porting specs and I ported it , cut the powervalve back and had the head opened up and reshaped. If I didn't have the means to do it all myself I would definetly send it out to Gorr to have it done also he will know what kits are available & for what all he does and whats included you cant beat the price, CBX
