Post by: jholt on December 29, 2010, 01:45:14 AM
My name is joel and I currently own and operate a motorcycle shop Called JMR Power Sports In North west Alabama. I am 35 and been riding since I was 5. Currently Riding a 08 KX 450 and I Ride Primarily motocross, got to looking at the 500's and they got me thinking. So I did some searching and came this Great site, I looked at what every one was doing and thought I will do it.   So Currently I have picked up a 93 kx 500 and have started my build, i just got my donner frame and will post pics as my build progresses. With My build I Decided not to be with out a bike the entire time While I built the 500af So I bought a frame on ebay for $ 250.00 and I Purchased jfab frame rails. This Should minimize my down time from riding...

thanks again for all the great info

Welcome Joel,
There are plenty of guys here willing to help, you've come to the right place to find what works and what doesn't on a conversion.  I think the crew here has tried just about everything.  I'm sure you can get some help as the holidays wind down and guys get back int a more normal groove.
