Title: Stud Installation?
Post by: SweetTea on December 07, 2010, 02:41:12 PM
Just got my cylinder back from US Chrome.  Do you just hand tighten the studs all the way down in the cylinder or is there a torque spec.  Checked my clymer and I can't find anything.  Also, I have red Permatex Lock-tight and Blue, should I use the red or blue on the studs, manual calls for red?  I don't want to have to heat the cylinder to remove red loc-tite parts in the future.  What about other parts, red or blue?

Thanks guys!

No torque spec, bottom them out. I'm with you on the red loc-tite, Blue should be adequite. I have never put loc-tite on a head stud, just motor oil, and have had good luck.
