Have some ?'s about rebound:
94 stock rear shock
has oil no leaks
both rebound and compression set at mid point
no rebound control
Rear of the bike just pops right back up?????
Help,
Thanks

Update...Took the upper valva out and drained the oil out...the oil had a ton of bubbles like burnt automatic transmission fluid. Replaced oil and now have rebound control!?!? Now another ?...Does anyone know how much fluid the shock should hold?
Thanks

What happens when you add rebound (Increase the rebound)?
If nothing....blown shock/valving...maybe just bad oil or nitrogen.
It's 10 years old...REVALVE TIME!
Good luck...ask Rick if he can make you a "One-Handed" valving special!
Good Luck!

An excellent article on rebuilding shocks!!

Shock Oil capacity is really not an issue, as you have to spill a lot of oil bleeding the air out anyway. I have a post on shock rebuilding as well on this site, but the pictures in the article noted help a lot. Do a quick search on this site and you will find the shock rebuilding instructions. Between the two sets of instuctions, you should be able to succussfully complete the rebuild.

Rupta,
Ricks post on shock rebuild is excellent. It's easy to do and I followed it and that says a lot!!!
