i have been riding for 25 years, and have rode many bikes, mostly street the last 5 on my Harley around hesston, ks. bought my 2001 kx 500 last fall, and i couldnt wait to ride it before going through it and shelled the piston the second time out. i knew better. now it sits in a buddys shop waiting for him to get around to it I wish I knew more about fixin them. this site will hopefully help with that. from what i did get to experience made me an addict! any help with this repair would be awesome cause i may take it over from my buddy, thanks!!

Hey JW,
You know what they say at home despot.. You can do it..We can help! :-D
The guys here have been great to me, no reason they wouldn't help you.
Get yourself a set of Factory Service Manuals and or a Clymer. It will come in handy later, so it will be money well spent. Look through it and see if you think you would like to tackle the project.
Take some time looking around the site, there is alot of info to peruse.
Welcome to the fold! :-D
