Title: 1993 kx 500 fork question
Post by: Japan on September 24, 2010, 08:07:26 PM
Hey guys, I recently bought a 1993 kx 500 as a project. I normaly ride a 2010 ktm 250 in Belgium, but I found a realy cheap kx and just went for it.
So I fixed it using info and parts I found on the internet also on  this site.
I had to change the fork seals, but I couldn't find the fork oil height from a 1993 model,so I checked the tech. specs from the latest model that's in the sticky on here,I think a 1998 and put 500 ml in each fork leg.
Now the fork is realy harsh and practicaly impossible to ride with.
Can somebody tell me how much oil I have to put in?
Thanks

Hai Japan.

Oil should be 435ml when changed.
509-517ml after disassembly.
Level 118-122mm.
Oil 5WT
Rebound 9 clicks, compression 8 clicks.

This is what my clymer says.
