Title: look what i made at work

so i got got tired of breaking kickstarters so i fab'd up a steel one on my lunch break, its just a quickie one so i can ride this weekend, next week i'll go back and make a permanent one

Bet you could sell em. Make a half dozen and post on the for sale section.... stock one cost over a hundred bucks I think

yeah their pretty close, the last one i had to buy was $90 i only got $8 and about 30 minutes in this one...lol but when i do my permanent one i'm going to take my time and make it out of stainless so it looks nice and hopefully last forever..lol

I hope it works ok. My experience is that any attempt using non cast fabrication for the kick it will twist slowly over time.

Great thinking, but pray to god the weld at the base of the lever does not fail while kicking..... OUCH !   :-o

i think it would bent before the weld would brake.

I think it would be pretty good demand. Kx500s are prone to braking the kicker. Also it would look cool, you could also make it 1/2' to 3/4' longer for more leverage.

I broke two and then made a steel one. Is that cold roll steel ? i used a Honda XR500
kick starter i think there forged  well if it bends try try again

Pretty much same thought on a kick lever. Pro Tec makes a billet kick lever  for my YZ450F that is actuall shorter that stock to allow easier kicking, but they are just more "wallet bait" that most people don't need IMO...
