Title: "new" kx250
Post by: blueoval on June 28, 2010, 08:57:11 AM
So I'm down in Southern CA helping the inlaws relocate and I come across a garage sale.  I notice a green bike and it gets me interested.  I go talk to the guy and it's a 1990 kx250.  I end up buying it for $100 (after all I have my truck with me and tiedowns - why would I not buy it?).  It doesn't run.  It's a total basket case.  I really don't know why I bought it, but I took it home and put it in the garage.  I guess if I get time I may dig into it - who knows.  It's a warm feeling that I get when I add another engine powered something to my garage whether I really need it or not and the fact that it doesn't run doesn't matter either.  Maybe I saw some remote potential in it.  I need therapy.   B.O.

Blue Oval,

Good rescue! The rear wheel is worth the entry cost & it will fit your K5  :-D

I used to race a 90. Good bike. I used to swap rear wheels with my 500 also.

Your right, you do have a problem.I strongly advise that you buy another KX500 immediately, then lie in a dark room for 3 weeks. If symptoms persist, contact your local Kwak dealer(AGAIN).Illness of the cranium has never been so much fun.ENJOY!

I had a 1990 KX250 back around 1997-1998 I guess it was. It was a good bike but mine was all top end, the low end was almost non-existent. I miss that bike.
