We went down to sandlake last weekend. It was the sand flea rally, a jeep rally we usually participate in. The jeep was not ready this year for the rally. Took the bike instead. I figured I could get around a bit faster on the bike to identify checkpoint locations for my friends who were in the rally. Got to really open it up on the beach. Crashed once in one of the bowls. Check out the videos.
first one is a cruise down by the ocean.

Im not sure what even happened there...glad you were able to get up.

i was running next to a set of tracks to hopefully avoid what happened there, and someone left some deeper ruts up on the bowl that crossed my path at an off angle. front tire caught the rut and yanked the bars out of my hands and started the whole superman thing there. it was a jeep rally going on and they really tracked up the sand. i wasn't sure what happened at first either. it all happened so fast. was a good one though because i could ride away from it. didn't hurt the bike either.

Glad you're OK!!! I like the sand now. I have a few ex-motocross/freestyle buds that need to get away from that scene and get a monster sand bike. They're always broken, but wrecks in the sand are much easier on our aging bodies than the hardpack and high landings minus bike.

Excellent video quality. Did I hear 119 in the first vid? That was an excellent dismount. I love those kind where you just get up, laugh then start up the bike and try again.

yeah, the vapor computer said my max speed during that run was 119.1 mph. when i watch the video on ny tv i can see it say 115 at one point during the run. the bike is crazy. i hope to learn to launch a little better in the sand, i have been babying my takeoffs for fear of turning it over. still getting used to the way the 10 blade hooks up.
