ok when i last took my reeds out of my kx there was a little plastic piece that was sitting in the reed cage ...im pretty sure its called a reed stuffer now my question is ... should i leave it in there or take it out? are there any benefits to this thing?
-
try it with and without, you'll tell the different, if you motor is loaded down good.
-
anyone else?
-
Mine is in and I am leaving it in.

Any pics? Whats it do? slow the fuel/air down?
-
Stuffing up the reed eliminates air turbulence, creating maximum airflow, improved velocity to the intake ports, and allows the engine to pull more fuel through bottom and mid range rpm (carb signal); thus producing crisp throttle response and increased bottom and mid power.

I know this is an old post but...
My motor didnt have one in it. And i really dont see it on any microfiche. Did certain years not have them?
Does anyone on here have one that they wanna part with?
Thanks!

What size and year is your engine?

Thanks for posting the pic. Im going to double check mine. Maybe it is in there and i overlooked it. Its not as narrow as i had imagined.
My boot is still sealed to my cage... it seems as if you may not be able to see the stuffer through the intake boot.
