i love to hunt! i will never have enough guns, and i love to shoot anything and everything! legally, of course. i will give up my guns when they pry them from my cold dead fingers. kind of corny, i know, but thats truly how i feel about it. i respect the way others may view this hunting issue, but i don't appologize for my views or. danger, sorry if i cause an uproar.

I've held a life time hunting and fishing license for 25 years.  There's room for all animals, right next to the mashed potatoes.
I don't hunt like I use to.  I never was one to kill anything just to be killing. I'm with smithy when it comes to trophy hunters. Anything we kill we eat.  I never was happy with taking my deer to a processing house.  And I got tired of field dressing and processing myself.
The deer population is out of hand in my area and I live in town.  I did bow hunt last year because of that reason, I didn't hit anything.
My riding track is a perfect place to bow hunt.  The deer use the track as a run lane.   If I do get a deer my neighbor or my brother will take it and do all the work.  It's more humane to thin the herd hunting than killing them with cars.
With the life time license I don't have to buy state tags.  Ever, even if I move out of state.  For deer we just carry duct tape and marker.  We tag the deer with the tape and write our license number on it.  Then take it to any state check station in the area.
Okla. is a conceal carry state, we have low criminal gun crime.  Most crooks in this state get shot.
My girlfriend lives in a small town that has a reputation "Don't rob a bank and come through our town".  They've killed 2 different bank robbers that robbed banks in other towns.
smithy, I noticed you said "next to zero gun crime" and not zero gun crime.  Is Australia learning criminals don't obey gun laws?

I have guns, but I don't hunt.  Hard to hit anything with a Glock.  I love my gun and love shooting it.  Washington state was a pretty good place to hunt deer and elk in the 70's.  My dad used a bow for most of the hunting...that takes skill.

After many years of moving around the country I have moved back home and will hopefully be hunting again this year. I used to hunt anything I could legally and also did a lot of trapping. I really miss the peaceful time out in the woods. Never used to have to buy meat from a store. Always had some sort of wild game in the 2 chest freezers at my parents house. If it lived in this area and was edible we had it. Also usually had buffalo and bear.

Deer Hunter. Bow Hunter. Too many Yahoos during the gun season for me. Its very peacful and still has a some heart wrenching adrenaline, when you get the opportunity to harvest a deer.

If more people carried guns, tragedies like Columbine would never happen. Good people carry guns too.

I know exactly how they feel.  They wish Columbine was in Okla., a teacher would have shot Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold.
If you notice, the killers go for areas that are gun free zones.  No one ever goes to a rodeo to kill people.  If they did some kid would grab his dad's rifle from the back window of the truck and take care of business.
Least we forget,  Australians still speak the Queens English and not Japanese.  One other sticking point, they only speak German in Germany.

Hopefully they feel the same way the New Yorkers feel about Jet Airliners. I would guess some people still get in an airplane and fly.  Oklahoma City was diesel and fertilizer but farmers still need to be trusted with both. Crazy bastards are everywhere using anything to do evil deeds but free people get to choose armed or unarmed (I was sad for the aussies giving up freedom for perceived security).
By the way hows your KX running?

Hmm...for not wanting to offend anybody, it seems your trying to stir the pot pretty vigorously,
